November 15: America Recycles Day

CVWMA is proud to support America Recycles Day, a yearly initiative of Keep America Beautiful.

You can support America Recycles Day, too! Take the pledge.

It’s all about educating ourselves and encouraging each other to:

  • Be mindful of what we consume.
  • Reduce our waste.
  • Reuse what we can.
  • Recycle right.

This year’s theme is focused on the economic impacts of recycling, the jobs it creates and the natural resources it saves.

Did you know that 20 recycled aluminum cans can be manufactured with the energy needed to make one can from virgin ore?

Or, that more than 600,000 people in the U.S. have jobs tied to the recycling economy?

In 2022, CVWMA partnered with Radio One on a series of America Recycles Day radio spots. Listen to them here.

We also sat down with Clovia Lawrence from 99.3/104.7 KISS FM to talk about the importance of recycling right. Katrina Entzminger of the City of Richmond Public Works Department and Clean City Commission joined us.

We’re even partnering with the Hanover High School Environmental Club for a Nov. 15 event. Rumor has it CVWMA mascot R3 will be in attendance.
