NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Central Virginia Waste Management Authority (CVWMA) will hold a public hearing at 9:00am on September 19, 2025 at the Hanover County Administration Building, 7516 County Complex Road, Hanover VA 23069 to consider the following:
Central Virginia Solid Waste Management Plan (CVSWMP or Plan) Amendment: Pursuant to 9VAC20-130-130 of the Virginia Administrative Code, the CVWMA Board of Directors will consider a major amendment to the Plan to increase capacity for the Ashcake Road Landfill located at 10022 Ashcake Rd, Ashland VA 23005 (Hanover County).
Ashcake Road Landfill is a permitted Construction Demolition Debris (CDD) Landfill. This Landfill only accepts CDD waste, which includes lumber, wire, sheetrock, brick, shingles, glass, pipes, concrete, paving materials, non-friable asbestos-containing building materials and metal and plastic construction materials and debris resulting from land clearing operations. This facility does not accept municipal solid waste, hazardous waste or industrial waste.
The Ashcake Road Landfill is proposing expanding within the boundaries of the existing property, which will increase the total permitted capacity from 3,066,510 million cubic yards to 6,066,510 million cubic yards, adding an estimated 14 years of life.

Citizens may also submit written comments prior to the public hearing but no later than September 19, 2025 to Mrs. Kim Hynes, CVWMA, 2100 W.
