The Central Virginia Waste Management Authority, or CVWMA, is a public service authority that implements solid waste management and recycling programs on behalf of 13 local governments.
Since its formation in 1990, the CVWMA has endeavored to provide efficient and economical waste management and recycling solutions for its member jurisdictions. A board of directors made up of representatives from each member locality governs authority. An experienced staff coordinates daily operations, with recycling and trash services provided through the private sector.
