The Central Virginia Waste Management Authority will host a recycling fair at Southpark Mall in Colonial Heights, Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026.

The fair is scheduled from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Regal Cinema parking lot.

Electronics recycling, paper shredding and Goodwill drop-off will be available in one, convenient location.

There is no fee for residents to participate. This event is for residential materials only — no businesses.

For added convenience, the event will be drive-through only. Volunteers will remove items from vehicles.

Paper Shredding Guidelines
Limit three banker’s boxes or paper grocery bags per vehicle. Staples OK. Remove plastic bindings and clips. Papers will be shredded onsite.

Accepted Electronics
Almost anything with a plug: TVs, DVD players, VCRs, computers, printers, scanners, monitors, mice, speakers, keyboards, cables, smartphones, gaming systems, clock radios, stereo components, cordless telephones, toasters, microwaves (without glass plate), holiday lights and more.

• Not accepted: Loose batteries, lightbulbs, items containing Freon, thermostats or mercury-containing devices, fire detectors, smoke alarms.

Accepted Goodwill Donations
Gently used clothing, shoes and accessories; art, frames and pictures; bicycles; books; dinnerware; domestic items (sheets, towels, linens, blankets), furniture in good condition; holiday decoration, small appliances in working condition and sporting goods.

• Not accepted: Building materials, mattresses or box springs; infant furniture, car seats, cribs or strollers; large appliances; lawn equipment; weapons, guns or ammunition.
