Henrico County Earth Day Festival

Deep Run Park 9900 Ridgefield Parkway, Richmond

Henrico County's free, family-friendly Earth Day festival will feature live music and activities, including face painting, seed planting, inflatables and a sensory-friendly activity tent. Food trucks will have refreshments available for purchase. The festival, hosted by the Division of Recreation and Parks and Keep Henrico Beautiful, also will offer opportunities to learn about sustainability initiatives and resources available in Henrico, including energy efficiency, residential solar, electric vehicles, recycling and preserving green space, air quality and more. Tech For Troops will collect retired technology that will be refurbished to help veterans in need. A list of equipment that will be accepted is at https://techfortroops.org/donations/.

Shred It To Protect It

Henrico County Public Utilities and Henrico County Police Department will host a document shredding and electronics recycling event. Document shredding is free. Fees apply to recycle some electronics.

Colonial Heights Drug Take-Back Event

Colonial Heights Police Department will accept unused medications for safe disposal. No syringes or sharps. The event will be held in the parking lot of Life Christian Academy.

Recycling Event at Stony Point Fashion Park

Bring old documents for secure shredding to Stony Point Fashion Park. Plus, learn about recycling and green tips from CVWMA and the Richmond Clean City Commission.

Goochland County Document Shredding

Reynolds Community College 1851 Dickenson Road, Goochland

Goochland County residents can bring up to five bankers boxes per person for secure document shredding. Must show proof of Goochland County residency. Paper clips and staples do not have to be removed, but plastic binding must be removed.

Electronics Recycling

Securis Richmond 8419 Glazebrook Ave., Henrico, VA

Electronics recycler Securis hosts an e-cycling collection on the first Saturday of each month. The drive-through event is open to all residents of Central Virginia. Fees apply for some items.
