Hanover County will host a household hazardous waste collection and document shredding event at the Mechanicsville Convenience Center, 7427 Verdi Lane, on Nov. 5 from 8 a.m. until noon.

Residents may bring up to 5 gallons of household hazardous waste for free disposal. This includes auto fluids, aerosols, household cleaners, oil-based paints, pesticides and herbicides.

Not accepted: Batteries, light bulbs, explosives or radioactive materials.

Residents may also bring 4 bankers boxes of documents per person for shredding.

This event is for Hanover County or Town of Ashland residents only. No businesses.
