The annual Prince George Clean Community Day is an opportunity for county residents to recycle and dispose of a variety of household items without fee.

Residents may participate at two locations: the Prince George Police Department Parking Lot and the Prince George County Convenience Center.

Prince George Police Department Parking Lot
6600 Courthouse Road

Drop off the following:

Tires

• Car, light truck and tractor trailer tires only.
• Tires must be removed from rims.

Not accepted: Heavy equipment tires, farm tractor tires, implement tires or industrial tires used on logging and construction equipment.

Household hazardous waste

Bring these items in their original containers:

• Oil-based paints
• All Pesticides (insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, rodent baits, including weed & feed fertilizers)
• Paint thinners and solvents
• Unwanted fuels (gasoline, kerosene)
• Unwanted household cleaners (oven, drain, floor)
• Chemistry sets / Photographic chemicals
• Brake fluid

Not accepted: Materials such as as dioxins, Kepone, radioactive material, explosives or shock-sensitive materials

Personal documents for shredding

Paper clips and staples OK. No binders or cardboard.

Prince George Convenience Center
3100 Union Branch Road

Drop off the following:

• Household trash
• White goods (appliances, air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, etc.)
• Yard debris  (limbs and branches less than 3 inches in diameter)
• Household goods (furniture, etc.)
• Electronics (TVs, computers, monitors, etc.)
• Mattresses/box springs
