New Kent residents can drop off a variety of materials for recycling.

• Vehicle tires (no rims)
• Personal documents for shredding
• Old electronics (computers, laptops, keyboards, flat-panel monitors, tablets, cellphones, accessories)
• Eyeglasses and hearing aids – Lions Club
• Plastic bags (clean and dry) – Lions Club

This event coincides with National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The New Kent Sheriff’s Office will accept medications for drop-off from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Pet food donations for the New Kent Animal Shelter are also accepted.

Preferred brands: Purina Pro, Hills, Blue Buffalo, Pedigree, IAMS, Friskies and Meow Mix
