City of Richmond ‘Bring One for the Chipper’

The City of Richmond will host its annual “Bring One for the Chipper” event on Saturday, January 10 17, 2026, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at 1710 Robin Hood Road.

Richmond residents can bring their real Christmas trees to be chipped into mulch, as well as electronics for recycling and personal documents for shredding.

The event is open to city residents only.

Christmas Tree Recycling – no charge

  • Remove all lights, ornaments, decorations and stands.

Paper Shredding – no charge

  • Up to five (5) paper bags or boxes of paper documents
  • Remove staples and clips
  • Paper shredded onsite

Electronics Recycling – fees for some items

  • Computer systems (hard drive or CPU) and accessories (cables, wires, keyboards, mice, speakers, etc.) VCRs, camcorders, stereos, and all phones
  • Televisions, computer monitors and printers
  • Other electronic equipment (almost anything with a plug – see the online list for clarification)
