Chesterfield County residents are invited to bring items for the June 27 shred, e-cycling and household hazardous waste (HHW) event at Thomas Dale High School. The event will be from 9 a.m. until noon.

Shred and E-Cycling Accepted Items (Fees indicated)

• Up to five small boxes or five grocery bags of personal papers for shredding per person (No fee)
• CRT televisions are charged based on size:
  • Less than or equal to 27” ($28 per television)
  • Over 27” ($37 per television)
• Hard drive, cell phone and tablet shredding ($8-$10.50 per item)
• Other electronics ($5.25-$40 per item)

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Accepted Items (No Fees)

• Acids (limit less than five gallons total)
  • Muriatic
  • Drain Cleaner
• Bases (limit less than five gallons total)
  • Bleach
  • Ammonia
• Solvents (limit less than five gallons total)
  • Paint thinner
  • Lighter fluid
  • Brake fluid
• Pool chemicals (limit two bags, five containers, less than three gallons total)
• Oil-based paints (limit five gallons)
• Rechargeable batteries (limit five)
  • Ni-Cad
  • Ni-MH
  • Li-Ion
• Fertilizers (limit two bags)
• Pesticides/herbicides (limit five containers, less than three gallons total)
• Thermostats/thermometers (limit two total)
