No businesses or out-of-county participants. \nDocument shredding \nUp to four boxes (10x12x18)\, paper bags or equal documents per participant will be accepted. \nHousehold hazardous waste collection \nThere will be no charge for liquids\, aerosols and solids\, which are classified as household hazardous waste.  There is a 5-gallon limit in total\, based on container size. \nExamples of materials accepted include: \n\nOil based paints\nFlammables\nOrganic liquids\nAerosols\nOxidizers pesticides\nHerbicides\nCorrosive liquids\nSolids including pool\, hot tub and spa chemicals\nHousehold cleaners\nMuriatic acid\nAcetic acid\nDrain cleaner\nOven cleaners\, grease and rust removers\, glues\, mold and mildew removers\nArt and hobby supplies\, including photographic chemicals\nMercury thermometers and switches\n\nNo batteries\, tube fluorescent light bulbs\, explosives or radioactive materials will be accepted.

DESCRIPTION:The City of Hopewell hosts its annual Spring Citywide Cleanup from April 20-27\, 2024. \nDuring Spring Cleanup\, hours of operation at the Citizen Convenience Center are 12:30-6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday\, and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Residents are encouraged to participate by cleaning around their homes and along their streets. During this week\, Hopewell residents may dispose of trash at no charge at the Citizen Convenience Center located at 507 Station St.\, behind Fire Station #1. The usual $10 fee for the removal of Freon to dispose of appliances still applies. \nThe following items will not be accepted at the Citizen Convenience Center: concrete\, masonry\, garbage (items normally disposed of in your household trash)\, paint of any kind\, batteries\, automobile motors\, and hazardous waste materials. Tires are limited to four per person and eight per household. Tires must be separated from the rim.
