SUMMARY:Hopewell Citywide Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:Hopewell residents are encouraged to clean up around their homes and streets during the city’s Fall Citywide Cleanup Oct. 15-22. \nThe Citizen’s Convenience Center\, 507 Station St.\, will be open from 12:30 until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday\, and 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday. \nHopewell residents may dispose of trash at no charge at the convenience center. They may bring up to four tires per person or eight tires per household. Tires must be separated from rims. \nThere will be the usual $10.00 fee for the removal of Freon to dispose of appliances. \nFirestone Tire at Cavalier Square Shopping Center is partnering in the cleanup and will accept batteries and up to four tires per person. \nThe following items will not be accepted at the Citizen Convenience Center: \nConcrete\nMasonry\nHousehold garbage (items normally disposed of in the trash container)\nPaint of any kind\nBatteries\nAutomobile motors\nHazardous waste materials \nFor more information\, call the Hopewell Department of Development at 804-541-2220. \nThe cleanup is for Hopewell residents only.

DESCRIPTION:The Science Museum of Virginia and Radio Poder 1380AM are collaborating to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. \n\n\n¡Virginia Fiesta! is a day-long celebration of science and culture highlighting the contributions of the Hispanic community in Virginia. The event will include a community fair\, vendors\, food trucks\, cultural performances\, live demos\, workshops and more. CVWMA will host a table at this exciting event. \n\n\n¡Virginia Fiesta! activities are included with regular Science Museum admission\, which is $16 for adults; $13.50 for youth (ages 6 – 12) and seniors (ages 60 and older); and $10 for preschool-aged children (ages 3 – 5). Science Museum members as well as active duty military\, retired military\, veterans and teachers with ID receive free regular exhibition admission.
