DESCRIPTION:Hanover County will host a special recycling event April 13\, 8 a.m.-noon\, at the Mechanicsville Convenience Center\, 7427 Verdi Lane. Hanover residents may bring household hazardous waste for free recycling and personal information or documents to be shredded. This event is for Hanover residents only. ID required. No businesses or out-of-county participants. \nDocument shredding \nUp to four boxes (10x12x18)\, paper bags or equal documents per participant will be accepted. \nHousehold hazardous waste collection \nThere will be no charge for liquids\, aerosols and solids\, which are classified as household hazardous waste.  There is a 5-gallon limit in total\, based on container size. \nExamples of materials accepted include: \n\nOil based paints\nFlammables\nOrganic liquids\nAerosols\nOxidizers pesticides\nHerbicides\nCorrosive liquids\nSolids including pool\, hot tub and spa chemicals\nHousehold cleaners\nMuriatic acid\nAcetic acid\nDrain cleaner\nOven cleaners\, grease and rust removers\, glues\, mold and mildew removers\nArt and hobby supplies\, including photographic chemicals\nMercury thermometers and switches\n\nNo batteries\, tube fluorescent light bulbs\, explosives or radioactive materials will be accepted.
