35 Years of Regional Collaboration
In 1990, thirteen localities in Central Virginia joined together to tackle new state recycling requirements. The idea was that – through an economy of scale approach – they could achieve greater cost savings for residents.
That’s how the Central Virginia Waste Management Authority was established.
