City Announces
Upgrades to Trash Collection Services
Beginning July 1, the City of
Colonial Heights will be implementing a new program for household

is to do our part to reduce the overall waste stream entering local
landfills. By providing a larger recycloing cart, residents will be
able to significantly reduce the amount of household trash to be
collected. The City has approved a agreement with Container First
Services (CFS) of Petersburg as the new City trash collection
service provider.
The only real
changes that will be noticable to the average city resident will
be:
- Smaller
trash carts
- Trash cart
will be a different color
- Trucks will
be a different color
- If desired,
additional carts must now be purchased for $60.00
New carts
will be delivred by Wednesday, June 27, 2012. The current (blue)
cart should be placed at its normal location on Wednesday, June 27-
but left out after trash collection so that it can be picked up.
All current (blue) carts will be removed on or before Friday, June
