Trash Collection Guidelines Please follow these guidelines for proper and efficient trash collection.   Each address is provided one blue CVWMA cart for use. Trash must be at the curb by 7:00 am on the scheduled collection day.  Place extra trash in tied trash bags next to the cart for collection.  Only trash in a blue CVWMA cart and tied trash bags beside a blue CVWMA cart will be collected.   Extra trash in personal trash cans will not be collected.   Motor oil, anti-freeze, and hazardous wastes will not be accepted.  Click here for disposal options for these types of waste. Bundled brush will be collected.  Brush must be tied in bundles less than four feet in length and weighing less than 75 pounds.   Bagged leaves will be collected year round. The limit per collection day is 40 bags, each weighing no more than 50 pounds. Limited amounts of bulky trash will also be collected at the curb.  Collection of large amounts, for which a fee may be charged, must be arranged through the City.  For questions about this service, contact the Trash Collection Hotline at 425-0500.   Collection Route Map To view the collection routes for Colonial Heights, click the map pictured at the right.  The map is a picture file that will open in a larger format to permit you to locate the collection schedule using large streets as reference points.   Holiday Collection Schedule Trash will not be collected on the following holidays: New Year’s Day Memorial Day Independence Day Labor Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day When trash collection is scheduled on one of these holidays, or during the same week after the holiday, service will occur one day later (i.e. Friday service on Saturday). Trash collection will not be affected by other holidays observed by individual local governments.
