Curbside Recyclers:  * September 6-10 is RED WEEK for collection. Be sure to have your recycables at the curb by 7 am. See headline below as Labor Day holiday to delay collections the week of 9/6-9/10.

 

CVWMA Trash Collections: Collection will be delayed one day the week of September 6-10 because of the Labor Day holiday.

 

Call the Recycling Hotline at 340-0900 for bin information, extra container stickers, missed collection, or any other assistance with recycling needs.

* Holiday to Delay Recycling & Trash Collections

CVWMA curbside recycling and trash collections will be delayed the week of September 6 in observance of Labor Day. NO COLLECTIONS will be made on Monday; thus all collections during this week will occur on the day following the normal collection day. Friday Collections will occur on Saturday. Nationwide Prescription Take-Back Day, September 25

On September 25, 2010, the US Drug Enforcement Agency will coordinate a collaborative effort with state and local law enforcement agencies to remove potentially dangerous controlled substances from our nation's medicine cabinets. Collection activities will take place from 10 am through 2 pm at sites throughout the country. In central Virginia, the public can take back expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications for destruction to the following locations:

  • Mechanicsville Convenience Center (off Verdi Lane), (Hanover)
  • Henrico Public Safety Building, 7721 E. Parham Rd. (Henrico)
  • Goochland Company 3 Firehouse, 52 Broad Street Rd, Manakin-Sabot (Goochland)
  • Hopewell Police Department, 300 N. Main Street (Hopewell)
  • New Kent Sheriff's Office, 11995 Courthouse Circle (New Kent)
  • Prince George County Gov't Complex, 6600 Courthouse Rd. (Prince George)

Mark your calendar! Earth Machine Compost Bin and Systern Rain Barrel Events

There is no better way to go green this Fall! Hanover and Henrico Counties are pleased to present a one-day only backyard compost bin and rain barrel distribtion event. This exciting regional initiative will feature The Earth Machine Backyard Compost Bin and the Systern Rain Barrel available for purchase by any resident living within one of CVWMA's 13 member localities. This one-day only sale will take place in the parking lot at Hanover County, Mechanicsville Convenience Center (off Verdi Lane) and the lower parking lot at the Henrico County, Western Government Center (off Parham Road.) Electronic Recycling Collection Events

CVWMA and our member jurisdiction offer a varoty of ways to recycle unwanted electronics. Saturday events are held periodially around the region.
