Bring your family and friends to Earth Day at the Center of the Universe.  This year's event is sponsored by Bass Prop Shop. A variety of activities are planned for all ages. Children can enjoy face painting, coloring contests, and much more. There will be numerious exhibits and demonstrations from local vendors and organizations. Neighborhood Clean Up and Beautification Events

 

Adopt a Street or a Spot

The Richmond Clean City Commission's Adopt-a-Spot/Street Program wants you to help clean up Richmond. Individuals, organizations, or businesses "adopt" a street, intersection, lot, park, - most anywhere - and agree to keep the area cleared of litter for at least two years. April is Keep Henrico Beautiful Month

Contact the Keep Henrico Beautiful office at 501-4502 or click the following link for the KHB website to sign up to do a litter pickup, host a recycling collection, host a beautification project, etc. Beginning April 1 residents can nominate a business and a home for the annual Keep Henrico Beautiful awards sponsored by the Keep Henrico Beautiful Committee. The committee is looking for businesses and homes that recycle, have a litter-free property and exemplary landscaping. Planning a Cleanup in Your Area?

The Charles City Planning and Zoning office has litter bags, gloves and other supplies for any one wishing to have a neighborhood cleanup. The office can also arrange to hvae any rubbish you pick up to be disposed of. Call 804-652-4807 for more information. Why not cleanup during the month of April and take your unwanted tires, household hazardous waste, TVs, computers and other unwanted electronics to the Charles City County landfill on Chambers Road. Annual Cleanup Week for the City of Hopewell

The City of Hopewell encourages its residents to do a litter cleanup to coincide with Earth Day 2013. The annual Hopewell "Spring Clean_Up" Week will run from April 20 through April 27. The event will kick-off with a *Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event sponsored by the Department of Public Works on Sat., April 20 from 9 am until 12 noon in the parking lot at the Public Works garage located at 103 S. Hopewell Street. For additional information, please contact Department of Development at 804-541-2220. *This is for Hopewell residents only.

 

Prince George County Clean Community Day, April 27, 8 am - 1 pm
