Customer Service Representative

CVWMA is seeking a candidate to provide customer service via telephone, email and other correspondence as part of a Customer Service Team. Candidate must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of computer and Microsoft applications required. On-the-job training will be provided for this part-time postion.

 

Schedule will be set to accomodate needs of the Call Center. Call Center hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.pm MOnday through Friday and from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturdays and holidays.

 

Essential Functions

  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Answers customer service hotline; provides program information to the public and contractors via telephone, mail and email and researches inquiries.
  • Sets up new service for customers.
  • Resolves service related calls from the public and member jurisdictions concerning recycling and solid waste programs.
  • Enters phone calls, faxes, emails and other correspondence into appropiate Authority database.
  • Assists residents and Authority personnel with location of the Authority resources using local maps.
  • Files faxes and related correspondence in the appropiate files.
  • Coordinates delivery of wheel kits, collection calendars, stickers and program informatrion to residents.
  • Interact with other departments.
  • Assist receptionist/switchboard operator.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office software.
  • Self-directed.
  • Detail-oriented.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

General knowledge of standard office practices, techniques, procedures and equipment;knowledge of Authority programs and service area; ability to operate standard office machines and peersonal computer with associated software; ability to perform detailed record work; ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; ability to read and interpret maps; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, assoicates and the general public.

 

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED and customer service experience.
